Painting Of A Girl Swimming In The Sea by Jan Keteleer is based on the true story of a woman, who decided to take a vacation at a picturesque secluded island off the coast of Turkey. She was expecting to have a nice and peaceful vacation but somehow ended up trapped in the middle of an ancient and forgotten culture. While searching for answers, she discovered that her vacation was part of an annual ritual called Asavinar which celebrates the essence of the sea and what it can offer to humanity.
Keteleer managed to create a realistic atmosphere with this picturesque and dream-like scene. He captured the essence of the sea, using bright colors, gentle strokes. He primarily focused on the sea as his subject, he was also able to include the atmosphere of the summer.
